Kimpton guestroom, Project 416

TORONTO — The Kimpton Saint George has launched Project 416, an initiative to highlight the city’s diversity and cultural icons. The hotel has decorated room 416 with Toronto-centric decor and curated snacks and activities that reflect the diversity and what makes the city unique.

Room 416 has been equipped with artwork from Toronto studio Gotamago’s Lichia Liu, a vinyl record collection from diverse Toronto artists, postcards and a Polaroid camera for use during their stay. Guests will also receive a basket upon arrival with snacks and beverages from local businesses, including Avling, Eatable Elevated Popcorn, Sapsucker and Hailed Coffee.

Until the end of the summer, guests have the option to book the Project 416 room to experience an elevated hotel stay. For each reservation booked, the Kimpton Saint George will donate 10 per cent of the room’s revenue to Red Door Family Shelter to support its efforts to assist families, refugees and women who are fleeing violence. To pay homage to the organization, room 416’s door has been painted red.
